SUI,-Sensors-Unlimited,Good.gifThe SU-02-SPC photon counter from Goodrich Corp.’s SUI (formerly Sensors Unlimited Inc.) is designed for single-photon counting in the near-IR region from 0.9 to 1.6 μm. Measuring 19 × 5.25 × 12 in., the benchtop instrument incorporates circuits both for discriminating avalanche photodiode output pulses at low current levels and for active quenching with response time under 10 ns, providing low time jitter and afterpulsing in InGaAs/InP photon counting. It includes plug-in architecture for detector optimization or upgrade and offers user control over parameters, including gate duration, repetition rate, detection probability and dead time. Applications include Raman spectroscopy, semiconductor failure analysis and optical time-domain reflectometry.
