The JDSU T-BERD 8000, in use by every major telecommunications operator worldwide, is the most innovative fiber field-test platform available -- easy-to-use, compact and lightweight. At OFC/NFOEC 2007, JDSU will introduce an in-band optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) for the T-BERD 8000 that uses a new, accurate measurement method for live optical systems, including ROADM networks, without the need for service interruption --making it able to test optical performance in the agile optical network. JDSU will also introduce two additions to the T-BERD 8000 Transport Module: A hardware enhancement for testing optical transport network (OTN) interfaces, enabling users to turn up and troubleshoot OTN circuits in the field; and an Ethernet-over-SDH/SONET (EoS)/NewGen SONET/SDH module that provides the ability to test Ethernet transported over SDH or SONET, helping operators cost-effectively deliver Ethernet-based services. The two transport module enhancements are interoperable.
