Cambridge Technology Inc. has expanded its line of self-tuned state space servos for high-speed scanning applications with the introduction of the DC2000 dual-axis digital servo driver. It uses a patented model-based algorithm that the company says enables marking speeds that are two to four times faster than analog PID servos offer. The direct digital command interface simplifies system integration, and the back-channel feedback lets the user digitally monitor servo status in real time. The instrument drives all of the company’s 62xx galvos, supporting apertures from 3 to >30 mm.
