LAS-CAD GmbH presents new version 3.3.5 of the program LASCAD (LASer Cavity Analysis and Design), which provides a unique combination of simulation tools.

Thermal and structural finite element analysis (FEA), Gaussian ABCD algorithm, and wave optics BPM beam propagation code are integrated for the first time in one software package to model thermal lensing effects, stability and efficiency in solid-state lasers.

LASCAD 3.3.5 is the first commercial program taking into account the full 3-D temperature distribution obtained from FEA to compute laser power output for 3-level laser systems, and produces simulation results in close agreement with measurements.
