FPL Femtosecond Fiber Laser

Calmar Optcom is an industrial leader in ultrashort pulse lasers, e.g. femtosecond fiber laser FPL. Two form factors are available for FPL: benchtop and OEM module. FPL has a broad range of applications such as characterization of high-speed detectors, biomedical, terahertz detection, optical coherence tomography, homeland security and industrial machining, among others.
In addition to the wavelength band of 1550 and 780 nm, Calmar’s newly developed 1-µm femtosecond fiber laser features wavelengths within 1020-1075 nm and a tunable range of more than 10 nm. It features pulse widths of 100 fs to 5 ps tunable, and repetition rates between 20-80 MHz. The OEM module is a very reliable, shock-proof source. It is linearly polarized and highly stable in operation. It is driven by a 5 V DC power supply and is very easy to use. The laser is of transform-limited pulse shape, low amplitude noise and pedestal.

Based on this seed laser, Calmar also supplies our customers with products of high power output by integrating an amplifier. FPL is used as a seed laser in Calmar’s Chirped Pulse Amplification System. FPL’s unique phase lock loop feature enables the laser lock to an external RF clock for many test and measurement applications.
