oBALL Deposition Sciences Inc. has introduced IsoSphere, a series of full-sphere lenses available in BK 7 glass, LaSF N9, LaSF 18A, spinel, sapphire and stabilized cubic zirconia substrates. Designed for collimating the output of laser diodes and fiber optics, the lenses have diameters ranging from 500 µm to 3 mm. The company's proprietary IsoDyn low-pressure chemical vapor deposition technology applies multilayer antireflection coatings to deliver less than 0.25% reflection per surface at either 1310 or 1550 nm. The process coats the entire surface of the ball lens, eliminating the need to orient the lens during mounting.
