POG Präzisionsoptik Gera GmbH offers customized variable metallic neutral density filters and geometric beamsplitters with variable beamsplitting ratios. Transmission and reflection in an application are defined by a computer-generated geometrical beamsplitter. The calculation is achieved by a variable configuration of pixel size (starting from 2-μm edge length) in constant raster (50 μm by default, modifiable to customer specifications). The company’s software and photolithographic fabrication enable the production of linear and nonlinear patterns in varying sizes for prototype and serial quantities. The devices are available in a variety of substrate materials and fused silica. Optical density ranges from nearly zero to four or five, depending on customer specifications.
