Varioptic.jpgVarioptic SA has launched the AFCM MI285 liquid lens autofocus camera. Using the company’s Arctic 416 7.75-mm liquid lens, the two-megapixel camera module has an 8.5-mm footprint. It takes sharply focused images and contains no moving parts. Features include a 1/4-in. format, autofocus from 5 cm to infinity, internal image signal processing, low power consumption and low cost. Designed for camera phones, the device may be used for image capture, bar-code reading, optical character recognition, Web cams and fingerprint identification.
