Agilent Technologies Inc. has introduced a family of thin-film beamsplitters in multiple geometries for use in a variety of applications, including aerospace, defense, vision systems, nanotechnology measurement and biotechnology instrumentation. Polarizing, nonpolarizing and wavelength beamsplitters are designed to provide precision beam control and low distortion with parallel or orthogonal output. The displacement beamsplitter offers parallelism accurate to 25 arc sec in two or more displaced output beams originating from an input beam, while the cube type separates an input beam into two beams exiting at a 90° angle. Available in standard and custom wavelengths, the components provide compact size, low thermal mass, low wavefront distortion and arc-sec wedge tolerance that ensures a precise 90° separation between the output beams.
