Stocker & Yale Inc.'s Mille Luce, also called the M1000, is a fiber optic illuminator that provides 1000 h of 150-W quartz halogen lamp life. The company says its patent-pending optical design with lamp-to-fiber coupling efficiency increases lamp life by 500% at full intensity with no loss in light quality. The M1000 has a compact design, internal infrared filter, positive locking collet and integrated handle. Options include variable iris control and color filter capabilities, miltiple unit stacking, low noise and vibration, and a positive locking nosepiece.
