Provide High-Resolution ImagingBARRINGTON, N.J., June 12, 2007 -- Edmund Optics is offering two new fast, fixed-focal-length (FFL) lenses. The new TechSpec lenses offer object-space resolution better than two line pairs per millimeter and are available in popular focal lengths such as 8.5 and 12 mm. The lenses are designed for high-speed, high-resolution imaging, making them suitable for online inspection applications.
The lenses support sensors as large as 2/3 in. and provide an angular field of view greater than 40 degress. At the lens’s minimum working distance of 200 mm, this corresponds to a field 240-mm wide for the 8.5-mm focal-length lens (#58-000) and 155 mm for the 12-mm focal-length lens (#58-001). The short focal lengths of these macro lenses allow them to work in low-light applications, offering speeds as fast as f-1.3.
Features include a low-profile housing, variable focus and iris adjustments with detents, and a standard C-mount interface for convenient camera coupling. Focus and iris adjustments can be locked using thumbscrewd or replaced with set screws to give a more permanent lock. Industry-standard filters can be easily attached to the lenses via the M25.5 x 0.5-mm filter thread located on the front of the lens.
The high-resolution macro lenses, available from stock in 8.5-mm focal length (#58-000) or 12-mm focal length (#58-001) versions, retail for $230; volume sales are available.
