StingRay Optics of Keene, N.H., said it developed a motorized infrared triple field-of-view lens assembly in response to a request for a specialized lens assembly intended for use with a cryogenically cooled long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) camera system.

The lens objective is optimized for use over the 7.0 to 14-um band range with discreet positions corresponding to focal lengths of 75, 150 and 300 mm at a speed of F/2.0. The corresponding fields of view, when used in combination with a 12-mm focal plane array, are approximately 9.2, 4.6 and 2.3 degrees, respectively.

TFOV.jpgThe  precision mechanical housing includes an integral adapter to interface the lens assembly to the host camera. The interface scheme accommodates a range of interface geometries to suit various camera configurations. All eternally exposed lens surfaces are available with or without hard carbon or diamond-like coatings, if specified at order placement.

An alternate version of the 4:1 lens includes an optional control sequence to upgrade the lens to a fully continuous zoom design(additional costs may apply).
