Spectrum Scientific Inc. said its new aberration-corrected blazed holographic concave grating, 470-250-040, has the world's highest efficiency, measuring at 85 percent at the 250-nm blaze wavelength.

The wavelength ranges from 190-800 nm for the grating. With a focal ratio of f/2, it offers one of the highest numerical apertures available today with the lowest stray light, the company said.

SSIGratings.jpgAn aberration-corrected concave grating (or flat-field imaging concave grating) has grooves that are neither parallel nor equidistant. This type of concave grating is designed to eliminate astigmatism and allow the required spectral range to be imaged on a plane. This makes the aberration-corrected concave grating ideal for use with planar array detectors such as photodiode arrays or CCD detectors, Spectrum Scientific said.

The 470-250-040 blazed holographic concave grating is ready to ship immediately, the company said. For more information, visit: www.ssioptics.com; e-mail: [email protected]
