Alio.jpgAlio Industries has released tripod micropositioners for use in nanopositioning applications. It offers backlash-free resolution to 5 nm, speeds up to 200 mm/s, and an effective positioning envelope between 15 and 200 mm3. The AI series tripods combine parallel kinematics principles with ceramic servomotors and high-resolution encoder feedback systems. Cross roller bearing-based mechanics provide smooth and precise linear motion and rigidity of each positioning element. Standard equipment includes motion controllers with forward and inverse kinematics, and built-in interpolation algorithms. Load carrying capability is up to 8 kg. Repeatability is 50 nm, with an upgrade to 10 nm possible.
