Volpi.jpgVolpi USA has released its Power Lightline, an LED-based scalable illumination source for web inspection that is available with 5600 K white, 617-nm red or 525-nm green surface-mount LEDs. Lengths range from 400 to 3400 mm in 200-mm increments. Output intensity is controlled in 1.3-in. segments via an Ethernet interface, and profiles for various applications can be created, stored and recalled. Integrated sensors monitor the device and report overtemperature as well as LED, power supply and software failures. The LEDs provide 4500 lm/m under normal operating conditions. LED density is 7 mm, light uniformity is better than ±10% over the length of the line, and operating temperature is from 0 to 45 °C.
