SRS-Stanford-Research-Syste.jpgStanford Research Systems Inc. has launched the UGA series universal gas analyzer benchtop mass spectrometers. Operating from atmospheric pressure to ultrahigh vacuum with a mass range of up to 300 atomic mass units, the instrument features an electron multiplier, built-in system heaters, dual-diaphragm pumps, analog and histogram scan modes, pressure vs. time plots, leak detection, a gas library and a remote control. The two-stage pressure-reducing inlet samples gases at atmospheric pressure. The pressure is reduced to 10–6 Torr, and the gas stream is sent to a residual gas analyzer, which measures the concentration of each mass of interest. UGA Windows software includes a graphical user interface, real time or scheduled data display, and complete system control.
