ZeonChemicals.gifDeveloped by Zeon Chemicals LP to address the requirement for high optical transparency, a stable refractive index and high transmittance after prolonged high-heat exposure to blue lasers in consumer and industrial applications, Zeonex 340R retains its original transmission of ∼92% even after 1700 h of irradiation at 85 °C and 400 mW/cm2. The polymer has a stable Abbe number over a temperature range from 10 to 60 °C, and its refractive index is stable over that range and over wavelengths from 400 to 700 nm. It is suitable for pickup lenses, mirrors and prisms.
