StingrRayOptics_54448b.gifStingRay Optics LLC has developed a long-wave infrared (LWIR) triple-field-of-view lens for use over the 7.5- to 12-μm waveband range. Focal lengths of 75, 150 and 300 mm are achieved through a motorized field of view change either via control box or computerized focus control. The design assumes a focal plane image diagonal on the order of 12 mm and a cold shield arrangement resulting in a lens speed of f/2. Average transmission is 85%. An optional control sequence upgrades the lens to a fully continuous zoom design.
