The substance is designed to cure at room temperature and more quickly at elevated temperatures. It has high electrical insulation properties, tensile strength and optical clarity. It is resistant to vibration, impact, shock and thermal cycling, has a Shore A hardness rating of 45, and can be elongated 160% before reaching its break point. Its service operating temperature ranges from –65 to 400 °F. Shrinkage upon cure is low. It comes in a variety of container sizes.
