Spectrum Detector Inc. has developed model SPI-D-62 THz, a digital USB-based radiometer for the terahertz spectral range from 0.03 to 3 mm. At 30 THz, the device has a voltage response of 150 kV/W and typical noise equivalent power of 5 × 10–10 W/Hz1/2. It includes a 2 × 2-mm detector and an SM1 optical bezel for windows and optics. Room-temperature operation, single- and dual-channel LabView applications software and a USB connection make the instrument suitable for conducting CW terahertz source measurements from nano- to milliwatts on a laboratory PC.
