SOUTH LYON, Mich., Dec. 19, 2007 -- NoIR's LaserShields laser safety eyewear is now available with a No. 34 8-base wraparound frame and a detachable Rx insert, complementing its 10 other frame styles.
noirlaser.jpgWith specialized narrowband peak absorbers rather than broadband generalized dyes, LaserShields absorb specific laser lines at high optical densities without sacrificing visibility.

In the pursuit of higher visible light transmittance (VLT) and protection levels, NoIR offers a dozen types of LaserShields with VLT >50% and a dozen with VLT >35%. LaserShields have the highest CE-certified L-ratings (power density ratings) possible for polymer lenses, including IR L7 for visible and infrared nanosecond pulses and M L6 for ultraviolet, visible and infrared femtosecond pulses. All have lifetime warranties.

NoIR safety eyewear has medical, military, aviation, aerospace, scientific and industrial applications. As a specialist in custom frequency absorption, the company also produces filters for alignment, forensics, UV/blue light curing, photodynamic therapy, enhancement and telecommunications.
