For detection of paper, labels and materials with a matte finish, Optek Technology Inc. has developed the OPB609 reflective object sensor with axial, gull wing or right-angle lead configurations. It comprises a 940-nm infrared LED and an NPN silicon phototransistor mounted side by side on parallel axes. The phototransistor has a collector-emitter voltage of 30 V and emitter-collector voltage of 5 V. Collector DC current is 50 mA. The LED has maximum forward voltage of 1.7 V and reverse DC voltage of 5 V. Forward DC current is 50 mA, maximum reverse current is 10 μA, and peak forward current is 1 A. Power dissipation for both is 75 mW. Operating temperature range is –25 to 85 °C.
