Docter Optics Inc. has developed the high-dynamic-range (HDR) Auto-Tessar lenses for front-view and night-vision cameras based on the use of light-sensitive sensors. The lenses reduce diffusion, veiling glare and reflections to <1%. The robust miniature lenses weigh between 5.3 and 10.5 g and are suitable for 1/2- and 1/3-in. sensor chips with up to 1.5 megapixels and are corrected for the 500- to 900-nm-wavelength range. They can be used in systems for visible and infrared light. Three versions are available, with focal lengths of 7, 9.6 and 17.3 mm and back focal lengths of 9, 6.4 and 10.4 mm. Maximum relative aperture ranges from 2 to 2.3 mm, image circle diameter from 6 to 8 mm and total lens thickness from 6.2 to 18 mm, depending upon the model.
