IVA Corp. has launched the IVIN-2M USB 2.0 2-megapixel digital camera with a variable-focus liquid lens made by Varioptic. The device features a CMOS imager with selectable display resolution from 320 × 240 at 30 fps up to 1600 × 1200 pixels at 15 fps incorporating a progressive-scan sensor with an electronic rolling shutter. The liquid lens enables close-up to infinity focus control electronically. The user has real-time dynamic control over focus during operation with the software graphical user interface, or the automatic focus mode can be used. Applications include biometrics (excluding iris identification), surveillance and general imaging systems.
