Precise Automation Inc. has introduced the Guidance 1400, a series of pocket-size vision-guided integrated-drive multiaxis motion controllers that are based on a distributed network architecture that locates the controller at the point of use. Measuring 44 × 83 × 133 mm, the robotic device contains four motor drivers, encoder input channels, a 700-MIPS processor, digital inputs and outputs, and Ethernet and RS-232 interfaces. It outputs motor bus voltages from 24 to 48 VDC and up to 500 W of total motor power. The user interface is based on a resident Web server that enables access from anywhere in the world. The software includes a complete set of motion commands, machine kinematics, and a continuous-path motion planner and trajectory generator.
