Laser-Photonics_Handheld_(C.jpgA 12-/24-V handheld fiber laser marking system that produces permanent and legible marks on a variety of materials has been announced by Laser Photonics LLC. It can mark 2-D matrix and bar codes, and it provides >50,000 h of maintenance-free operation. It features an air-cooled ytterbium Q-switched fiber laser with M2 beam quality <1.05 and a TEM00 profile. Equipped with a 6.3-lb ScanLab scanning head and a flexible cable beam delivery system, it is supplied with a PC and software, a flat panel monitor, a mouse and a keyboard. The system is suitable for direct part marking, for marking large objects in the field and for military applications. It includes a red diode pointer for easy setup.
