Z-LASER.jpgZ-Laser Optoelektronik GmbH has expanded its ZQ series with the addition of the Peltier-cooled ZQ-200 laser for use in biophotonics, biotechnology, microscopy, interferometry, machine vision and industrial inspection applications. It provides 200 mW of power and comprises a combination of three temperature-stabilized laser diodes focused to a point at a user-defined distance. The diodes are based on GaN semiconductor technology and are developed for CW operation, high output power and durability. The laser operates at 643 nm but, via an integrated temperature controller, the wavelength can be shifted by changing the temperature in 0.05 °C increments. A connected controller box sets parameters such as current and voltage. Packaged in a robust and compact housing, the device is suitable for use in harsh environments. A mechanical shutter is located at the beam emission point.
