Carestream Molecular Imaging, a division of Carestream Health Inc., has introduced the Kodak In-Vivo Multispectral Imaging System FX for noninvasive measurement of premorphological biological processes. The system combines multispectral tuning of excitation light and digital x-ray technology to detect fluorescence, bioluminescence and radioisotopic signals. Suitable for drug discovery and disease detection, the system isolates multiple fluorescent biological marker signals and removes autofluorescence for an improved signal-to-noise ratio and increased sensitivity. Components include a monochrome interlined CCD with 2048 × 2048-pixel density, a xenon source and an automated 20- to 200-mm 10× zoom lens. The system’s automatic software analyzes multiwavelength image series with spatially co-registered x-ray and white-light data for improved localization of biomarkers in vivo.
