Analytical Spectral Devices Inc. has introduced a portable, handheld version of its FieldSpec spectroradiometer. It weighs 2.7 lb, measures 3.3 x 6 x 8.2 in., runs on standard camcorder batteries and can be operated with either the left or right hand. It is suitable for applications in remote sensing, agriculture and forestry, industrial light measurement, oceanography and mining. The device has a wavelength range of 300 to 1100 nm, a spectral resolution of 3.5 nm and a sampling interval of 1.6 nm.
