A single-longitudinal-mode 405-nm wavelength-stabilized laser in a standard TO 5.6-mm package is available from Ondax Inc. The TO-405-PLR10 features light output of 20 mW and laser reverse voltage of 2 V at a case temperature of 25 °C. It offers a threshold current of typically 25 mA in continuous-wave mode, with a maximum of 50 mA, and an operating current of typically 35 mA, with a maximum of 60 mA. Wavelength is locked to <±1 nm. The stabilization is achieved by optical feedback using the company’s volume holographic grating PowerLocker. The coherence length is >1 m. Applications include Raman spectroscopy, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and fluorescence.
