Intensity Modulator Operates at 800 nm

Photline-Technologies_NIRMX800.jpgPhotline Technologies has introduced the NIR-MX800 series of 800-nm intensity modulators. The devices, which offer high speed, low drive voltage and reliability, operate between 780 and 850 nm at a temperature between 0 and 70 °C and provide –45- to –50-dB optical return loss, 0.5- to 1-dB ripple and 4.5- to 5.5-dB insertion loss. The devices have lithium niobate X-Cut Y-Prop crystal and polarization-maintaining input and output fibres in a 100 × 15 × 9.5-mm package. In CW mode, the modulators achieve 28-dBm maximum radio-frequency input power and 10-dBm maximum optical input power.
