Power Technology Inc. said it has made a significant increase in the power available in its instrument quality (IQ) modules by now offering a 405-nm IQ laser module with power output up to 120 mW.

According to the company, this new IQ laser module can serve as an easy upgrade -- a "drop-in" replacement -- for Power Technology's current 60-mW IQ laser module, enabling a relatively seamless transition between the two lasers.

PowerTechnologyLaser.jpgA wide range of applications such as fluorescence, flow cytometry, high-resolution printing, and biodetection can benefit from the laser module's high power and specific wavelength, the company said.

"This laser module significantly increases the power output that we are offering in our laser modules," said Walter Burgess, vice president of sales and engineering. "This product came about originally as a custom module, however demand for the product has risen and the laser module will now be more readily available for our customers."
