Lumenera.jpgLumenera Corp. has released the Infinity X-32 pixel-shifting CCD camera. It achieves 32-megapixel resolution by shifting a Sony ICX274 sensor with a 1616 × 1216-pixel array. Users also can operate it at 2, 8 and 16 megapixels. In addition to taking still photos, it captures video at 12 fps at full resolution and at 25 fps in smaller regions of interest. It has a selectable 8- or 12-bit format, runs on proprietary software and connects via USB. The device is available in color or monochrome. Each pixel contains 36 bits of color information, resulting in 4096 intensity values per color, and the camera is highly sensitive, with a >66-dB dynamic range. It offers real-time focus, autoexposure and automatic white balancing. Exposures are selectable from 67 μs to 2 s.
