Linear translation stages with travel track lengths of 6, 12 and 24 in. are available from Edmund Optics Inc. The Techspec series stages use rack-and-pinion positioning with accuracy of 0.01 in. and are designed for integration with standard English-unit positioning equipment. They come in single- and dual-knob versions, with stages measuring 2.36 × 2.45 and 1.18 in. The stages offer nine 1/4-20 tapped holes for equipment mounting and have a load capacity of 5 kg and 2 kg when locked. The tracks are 2.45 and 0.4 in. and have counterbored mounting holes for 1/4-20 socket head cap screws every 6 in.
