Optical filters

May 2008
Semrock Inc.Request Info
Semrock.jpgSemrock Inc. has released a line of optical edge filters for Raman spectroscopy and fluorescence imaging. The EdgeBasic long-wave pass filters have a typical transmission of 98% and an optical density >6. The filters provide extended light blocking from the laser wavelength to deep into the ultraviolet spectrum to enhance their suitability for fluorescence applications. They are hard-coated with an ion-beam-sputtering deposition process for durability and reliability even in harsh conditions. The filters are housed in a black-anodized aluminum ring that is 25 mm in diameter and 3.5 mm thick.

Raman spectroscopy
That branch of spectroscopy concerned with Raman spectra and used to provide a means of studying pure rotational, pure vibrational and rotation-vibration energy changes in the ground level of molecules. Raman spectroscopy is dependent on the collision of incident light quanta with the molecule, inducing the molecule to undergo the change.
