Bruker Daltonics has unveiled a Maldi imaging solution for its apex-ultra Fourier transform mass spectrometer. The device is equipped with a SmartBeam Maldi ion funnel source suitable for tissue imaging of small molecules, including drugs from animals dosed at therapeutic levels. It offers mass resolution greater than 900,000 at 7 tesla, which enables the imaging of small molecules without needing tandem mass spectrometry.
