Micro-Optics Inc. has announced low-loss, high-extinction-ratio, polarization-maintaining fiber optic isolators for the 1310- and 1550-nm wavelengths. These devices are available in single- and double-stage configurations, both of which come in a package measuring 5.5 mm in outside diameter and 35 mm in length. Typical insertion loss for the single-stage isolators is 0.4 dB, and maximum insertion loss is 0.6 dB with extinction ratio >=22 dB and return loss >=65 dB.
