National Instruments has released Version 5.1 of the LabView development environment. The new version streamlines the development of Web-enabled applications. Users can create smaller executables for greater system performance and decreased memory usage. The 5.1 also extends the use of ActiveX technology to integrate the math and interactive capabilities of The Math Works' Matlab and the company's HiQ. Enhancements include 3-D graph control, scalable front panels and plots for custom drawing and animation.
