Optical Research Associates issues LightTools Version 2.0.3 for PC and Sun platforms. It offers new features and an expanded ability to accurately represent real-world light sources and to trace rays in complex systems. The measured spatial and angular luminance distribution of a source can now be used as the input for subsequent ray tracing. Version 2.0.3 can ray trace immersed objects, those not immersed in air or partially in optical contact with other materials, for more accurate modeling of sources such as packaged LEDs.
