SpecialOptics.jpgSpecial Optics Inc. has introduced a UV microscope objective with a numerical aperture of 0.90. It provides 0.28-μm spot imaging at 248 nm and 0.41-μm spot imaging at 365 nm. The effective focal length is 5.5 mm, and the field of view is 100 μm. Its design is diffraction-limited and achromatic, with <0.07/λ rms wavefront distortion over the entire field of view. Scratch-dig surface quality is 20-10, transmission is >97%, and the coating damage threshold is 500 MW/cm2.
