The Spectroline Q-Series UV magnifier lamps from Spectronics Corp. are available in 12 models, with various combinations of long- and short-wave UV and white light. They are suitable for life sciences applications in areas such as bacterial identification, specimen staining, mutation studies, microbiology and fungus culture. The high-resolution magnifier lens provides 3× magnification at an 8-in. focal length to make minute traces of fluorescent material highly visible. The lamps’ polycarbonate housing encloses a specular aluminum reflector to ensure maximum irradiance. The handle features a friction-lock swivel joint. Several models offer a spring-balanced flexible arm that extends 36 in. and swings in a 360° arc.
