Global_light_GLT-185.jpgNew LED-based high-brightness backlights from Global Lighting Technologies Inc. offer thinness down to 0.4 mm or less to provide the slimmest moulded lightguide BLUs available for backlighting LCDs in a wide array of consumer electronics products, as well as for the keypads/keyboards used in mobile phones and in laptop and desktop PCs. GLT’s patented MicroLens light extraction technology and improved manufacturing processes are making lightguide packages available to OEMs who must meet the increasing consumer demand for a smaller, slimmer size without sacrificing performance. The lightguides can backlight LCDs from 0.25 to 50 in. diagonal and higher.
