JPK Instruments AG has unveiled the NanoTracker optical tweezers and 3-D particle-tracking system, which is used with a 1064-nm laser and a folded optical pathway with a drift-compensated design. Enabling users to trap and track particles from several microns down to 30 nm, the system can be used in applications including the study of single molecules and biopolymers, cell membranes, cell-particle interaction, and viral and bacterial infection.
