MORGAN HILL, Calif., Oct. 2, 2008 – To conduct accurate eye pattern measurements for data rates from 0.1 to 12.5 Gbps, Anritsu Co. has introduced the Bit Master MP1026B eye pattern analyzer.

The analyzer supports OC-192/STM-64 SONET/SDH, 10G Fibre Channel and 10G Ethernet systems at the physical layer, and it can verify the performance of high-speed circuits, transceivers, transponders and network equipment. It is equipped with a fully internal optical receiver for measuring fiber signals up to 12.5 Gbps. Anritsu-MP1026B.jpg

It also features an automated mask margin tool to calculate percent margins. Quick verification with single readout displays can be achieved for critical time parameters, including jitter p-p and RMS, rise and fall time, eye width and duty cycle distortion. Measurements are updated at 100 ksamples/s and accuracy is assured because of the instrument’s low jitter measurement of 0.85 ps rms.

A secure data option is available to prevent any setup conditions or measured data from being stored internally. The MP1026B can be used as a bench or as an in-field application. It is suitable for network equipment manufacturer applications, backlplane characterization and twisted pair cable applications.
