Wavelength Electronics Inc.’s FL593FL provides USB 2.0 remote computer control of the company’s FL500 laser diode driver. It is supplied with a Windows control interface and an application programming interface for building custom applications. Operational settings are held in onboard nonvolatile memory. The user can download a configuration and disconnect the FL593FL from the PC, leaving the device to operate in stand-alone mode. The USB hubs can be used to control multiple units from a single port.
