Methode Electronics has introduced a line of optical LED transceivers for ATM and FDDI data communication networks. Designed for bidirectional communication over multimode optical fiber, the high-performance integrated MDX-19 Series of data links is compatible with either 50- or 62.5-µm fiber optic cable. The 1300-nm LED is for data links in network environments such as ATM OC-3 up to 155 Mb/s and FDDI at 125 Mbaud. The devices are suitable for universal usage, and especially in mezzanine card applications.
