FREMONT, Calif., Dec. 15, 2008 – A 1064-nm Raman spectrometer has been released from BaySpec Inc. suitable for use in biomedical market applications.

BaySpec-Raman-Spectrometer.jpgThe system uses a 1064-nm fiber laser with up to 400 mW of power and is specifically designed for 1064 nm operation with all appropriate bandpass and blocking filters built into the probe.  Its illumination reduces biofluorescence with the Raman signal remaining high.

The f/2 volume phase transmission grating design of the spectrograph offers captures up to five times more light than conventional systems, according to the company. The modular system allows current instrument owners of older designs to upgrade easily using their existing systems and cameras.

It is also available in 785 nm illumination with a variety of cameras from multiple manufacturers.
