ASTRONOMICAL IMAGING

Photonics Spectra
Mar 1997
PhotometricsRequest Info

Photometrics has introduced the high-performance Aurora CCD imaging system, which features high sensitivity, a large field of view and deep-cooled CCD sensors. Tailored to the needs of professional astronomers, the Aurora can take low-light measurements with the help of its back-illuminated 2048 x 2048-pixel CCD. A typical electronic read noise of 5 electrons rms allows detection of very faint light sources. When used with a large-capacity 2-l Dewar, the temperature hold time exceeds 18 h.
