The long-stroke linear motor operates by accumulation of small steps and locks in position between each step. It offers blocking at rest in any position, high stiffness, nanopositioning resolution along the stroke and nonmagnetic behaviour. It is designed with a mechanical amplifier and prestress applied to the piezo ceramics.
