Request InfoUnion Optic Inc.An optical isolator made from crystal quartz and BK7 has been introduced by Union Optic Inc. It combines a polarization beamsplitter cube and a λ/4 plate. Incident light is linearly polarized by the beamsplitter and converted to circular polarization by the wave plate. If any part of the emerging beam is reflected back into the isolator, the wave plate converts the reflected beam into a linearly polarized one, perpendicular to the input beam. The beamsplitter cube blocks the beam from returning to the input side of the system.See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra August 2023 IssueOptical IsolatorThe PAVOS kW Ultra from Coherent Corp. is an optical isolator designed for high-energy ultrashort-pulse (USP) lasers.
